Yann Apperry is the French writer in residence at Thorndon’s Randell Cottage and Jo
Thorpe is a Trustee of the cottage, a poet and dancer.
A bilingual French‐ American, with a string of French prizes, Yann writes in both languages as a novelist, poet, playwright and librettist ‐ and translates his own work. He will read ‘a little florilège of poetry and prose’ and talk about his musical collaborations.
Wellington poet and dancer Jo Thorpe will delve into her new collection In/let (Steele Roberts) which – in its accomplished use of rhythms and language – straddles both poetry and dance. One review says, ‘the glittering/fairytale, muscular/dancing, instinctive poems within… Gorgeous!’
