Applications are invited for next year’s French residency at Randell Cottage, with a closing date of 30 April.
The residency is open to authors, either French citizens or based in France for at least 5 years, having published a minimum of two books and with a good command of the English language. It is open to all writing styles: fiction, non fiction, screenwriting, playwriting, poetry, children’s literature, graphic novels etc. Applications are reviewed according to the quality of the proposed writing project and past published works, as well as the applicant’s public speaking skills and abilities to run workshops.
The residency provides for accommodation in the Cottage for five months in the first half of 2025. Return airfares and a monthly stipend to cover living costs are included.
The selection processs is managed by the Embassy of France in Wellington in conjunction with the Randell Cottage Writers Trust. All questions and completed applications should be addressed to the Embassy, in accordance with the Call for Candidates, below.
