Since its foundation in 2001, the Randell Cottage Writers Fellowship has offered six months of rent-free accommodation each year to mid-career New Zealand writers.
Devastatingly, Creative New Zealand has declined our application for a three-year grant for the Fellowship stipend, citing limited funding availability.
The Trust is overwhelmingly grateful to all who donated through the Arts Foundation’s Boosted site to enable this year’s selected resident, Saraid de Silva to take up the residency.
However, the battle goes on to fundraise and seek longer-term sponsorship for the Fellowship and the ongoing needs of our heritage Cottage.
Help us work to preserve the Randell Cottage residency and its contribution to the NZ arts and cultural landscape.

The Randell Cottage Writers Trust has ongoing financial commitments, including the maintenance and furnishing of the cottage and upkeep of the garden. The Friends of the Randell Cottage support the Trust’s work through fundraising and publicity efforts.
You can help us out by making a tax-deductible donation to the Friends, either as a one-off gift or as a regular monthly payment.
Bronze donor: $100.00
Silver donor: $250.00
Gold donor: $500.00
Donors will be acknowledged in the Friends’ newsletter – unless privacy is requested – and will receive email updates about Friends activities, including invitations to readings and other events.

The Randell Cottage Writers Trust is a trust and the Friends of the Randell Cottage is an incorporated society. Both have been granted donee status by the Department of Inland Revenue and are registered under the Charities Act 2005:
